Do you ever have those moments when things seem overwhelming and you let yourself sink into victimization, depression, frustration, etc.? I had one of those moments recently. All the crazy stuff happening in my life felt heavy. I was down and depressed. My wife came in and posed a question for me to consider. I groaned because I knew it was a great question but I didn’t want to answer it. My pride was in the way and I wanted to continue my pity party.
As soon as I got out of my junk, I embraced this question and started to realize how amazing it is. It took me from a place of confusion, doubt, and fear to a place of success and excitement.
Why is this the best thing that could happen to you right now?
As first, I thought that question sucked. No way could this be the best thing. I could think of plenty of better things that could be happening. This was the worst thing. Then, as I let myself explore why this could be the best thing, I started to understand some of the deeper principles behind the struggles I was going through. It was fascinating to hear answers to that question form in my brain. It took me out of victimization, worry about time, finances, managing systems, structure, sales teams, etc. to thinking about why this is the most incredible thing that could happen to me right now. I started to get super excited. A challenging situation transformed into a blessing.
If you are facing challenges with finances, relationships, health, or overall happiness, ask yourself this question - why is this the best thing that could happen to me right now? Ponder it. Answer it.
